In April of 1982 in Birmingham Michigan, Dan Levitt, a popular local jazz drummer and business owner, and his daughter Lorna Kuschel opened the doors to Solo Records with only their extensive collections of records and fueled by a deep passion for music. They soon became a local favorite in what customers dubbed "The Little Green Building."
In 2001, they moved their location to where it sits presently in Royal Oak, Michigan, with Lorna now the sole owner and manager Amanda Schaule her right hand woman.
